Back in 2010 independent filmmakers Enzo Tedeschi and Julian Harvey wanted to make a film but with no track record, funding was a pipedream. So, they came up with what initially seemed like a hair-brained idea, but eventually joined a worldwide trend - crowdfunding the film. As revolutionary as that idea was, it was what came next that got a major Hollywood studio in a tizz – they gave the film away for free on BitTorrent. The Tunnel is not only a gripping found footage film set in the disused rail tunnels under Sydney with loyal fans the world over - it is the way it was financed, made and distributed that made headlines and turned heads around the world. Enzo and Julian challenged every convention there was in the filmmaking business.
